Hi! I’m Matt Miller

I have always lived in Aotearoa. As a kid, I was highly active and involved in competitive rugby and motocross. I took both these sports seriously and had a really big potential to take my rugby career further. I was also sponsored by our local Yamaha dealer here in Dunedin.


I was always training hard and watching my nutrition. I made sure to stay focused on my goals and give my 100% effort to achieving them.


Unfortunately, I sustained multiple injuries in both sports including an x-ray folder filled with 12 broken and dislocated bones. This put a damper on my dream of becoming an even more competitive athlete. My family had also endured the loss of my youngest sibling due to a Motocross accident.


Through these challenging situations, I never let it stop me from pursuing a career in fitness. I have spent 15 years in the gym space and completed 6 years of studies. I have a huge passion for movement and nutrition as I have experienced firsthand how amazing it can feel when you achieve your goals or start seeing results.


The biggest achievement for me is hearing my clients say “I cannot believe I did it”. Every time I see my clients achieve their goals, it motivates me to keep growing and expanding my program to help others. One of the most inspiring moments was when I worked around stroke rehabilitation. Watching someone wheelchair-bound to walking almost in a straight line confidently was amazing!

I am involved in Exercise Prescription. During the day I am a full time qualified personal trainer and a Strength & Conditioning coach. I have a Diploma in Personal Training, I have finished the Bachelor of Applied Science and hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Strength & Conditioning. You can feel reassured that I know what I’m talking about!


Within my time in the fitness industry, I have worked with clients from various age groups, clients with disabilities, sports athletes and specialised professions such as policemen, firefighters and people in the army.


I am very capable of modifying workouts and diets to suit each client. Not only have I built stability within the gym, but I also have a deep understanding of how the body and mind works.
